Module 3 | Taking a Closer Look: Core Competences and Study Skills in Social and Cultural Anthropology!
Introduction
Learning objectives:
Each discipline has its own set of requirements that students must learn to fulfill. The capabilities required can be roughly divided into two fields. First, you need study skills or techniques which are not unique to SCA, but rather are generally needed to study successfully at university. Second, you need to develop scientific competences that enable you to understand social life from the perspective of social and cultural anthropology. Those are two very different things – which is why we label them here as study skills on the one hand, and core competences on the other. Both are needed later in life during your professional career.
- Introducing some of the core skills required in social and cultural anthropology.
- Learn what kind of study skills are needed.
- Be aware that there are core competences on the one hand, and study skills on the other. Understand that both are indispensable for studying SCA successfully.
